An alle Griechen:
Frohe Ostern!

Also Lorcool, wieder mal ein großartiges Kunstwerk!

Merry Christmas from me, too!
But I don't know what they celebrate in the other religions now... Channukah is over (started 16 December) today, I think; but note that it has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas anyways. Please tell me what they celebrate, I want to knooow!!!

Frohe Weihnachten an alle!
Channukah is celebrated for the lights. In the shortest daylight-times of the year, they want to be remembered on it. Compareable with Christmas? In a certain way, yes.
That`s the reason for celebrating. The English-Speaking Wikipedia has got a nice article about it. Maybe you should read it to find out something about the backrounds.

Granted. But I really want to point out the fact that there are no relations between Christmas and Channukah other than both are events that are religiously influenced, celebrated by tradition and tend to be at the end of the year of the Gregorian calendar.
By the way, Channukah is not always at the same time, the differences exist because the Jewish year is based on the Hebrew/Jewish calendar. At the time, we have the year 2006 (Gregorian) or 5767 (Hebrew/Jewish).
Again, Channukah is not the jewish Christmas, mind you. I think many people don't understand that. Take this article for example: http://www.bz-berlin.de/aktuell/kultur/061202/feier.html It doesn't make sense. It's wrong and only proves that the writer doesn't know what he/she is talking about. A short, but good thread about this can be found here: http://de.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061218074338AALEeBc or, as Mikemills stated, here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chanukka.
Edit: I think my statement in my last post could have been misunderstood: I wanted to know what they celebrate in other religions (not Christianity or Judaism) at this time.
